Challenge

What was the client trying to achieve?

A retail production partner needed to coordinate a simultaneous refresh of professional haircare displays across 55 major health and beauty stores. The work coincided with the launch of new products and formed the in store element of a wider omnichannel campaign.

The scope varied by location. Installers were required to update one or two branded bays using store specific graphic packs, including shelf fronts, ticket strips, barcodes, showcards and selected lightbox graphics. They also had to complete routine display maintenance, liaise with store or duty managers to locate stock, remerchandise the bays and remove obsolete materials and waste.

What was at stake?

The installation window was directly connected to the product launch. Inconsistent presentation, missing materials or an incomplete store visit could weaken the impact of the wider campaign and place the production partner's relationship with its client under pressure.

The client also needed more than a confirmation that an installer had attended. It required accurate timestamps, geolocation, before and after photography and clear reporting of missing stock, damaged components and any work requiring a revisit. That evidence was essential to keep the brand team informed and maintain control across a geographically dispersed programme.

City Install approach

How we made a difference.

City Install turned the brief into a coordinated national programme, matching experienced installers to defined geographic areas and organising the distribution of 89 store specific graphic packs through 15 regional delivery points.

Each installer received a location specific brief covering the relevant display format and update requirements. On site, teams worked with store management to access the bays, identify the correct stock and complete the graphics, maintenance and remerchandising activity with minimal disruption to the live retail environment.

Our OPOC reporting platform gave the client live visibility throughout the rollout. Every completed visit could be supported by geolocation, timestamps, structured completion questions and before and after images. Missing parts, damaged components and site discrepancies were captured as exceptions rather than being lost in emails or discovered after the campaign window.

Result

What happened and what was the outcome?

The programme gave the client a clear, auditable view of delivery across the retail estate. Completed visits were evidenced as they happened, while locations requiring further attention were separated from successful installations and supported by specific photographs and site notes.

This allowed the production partner to keep its client informed during a time sensitive launch, distinguish installation performance from missing stock or pre existing fixture issues, and plan follow up activity using reliable information from the store. City Install combined nationwide reach with practical store liaison and transparent reporting, making a complex multi site update easier to manage.
